Formation

A person interested in exploring the possibility of a call to be a Holy Spirit Sister will be asked to have contact with an appointed sister to help discern God’s will for her. After this the candidate may be admitted to begin her initial Formation, a period of personal growth, study and apostolic experience.  A two year more intensive spiritual preparation is then undertaken and this is followed by temporary profession of vows. During the period of temporary vows the sister is given the opportunity to continue her studies or engage in ministry.

The goals of this time are to deepen one's prayer life, develop understanding and practice of the vowed life, as well as the spirit and charism of the congregation.  Opportunities for shared community responsibility and apostolic service afford an opportunity to integrate contemplation and action.

 Those who seek admission should have: A high school education with the necessary physical and mental health.A personal, growing relationship with God.A desire to live in a cross-cultural environment.A willingness to participate in the ministries of the community.A growing capacity to be dedicated, adaptable, resilient and courageous to meet the demands that are part of a missionary way of life.A sense of humor.
